What protection do I have by paying a payment link or an invoice?
How am I protected if I pay for something using a payment link?
We don’t offer any guarantees, insurances or other forms of protection for payments you make using these links. If something goes wrong, the bank you made the payment from should be able to help.
If you pay by easy bank transfer, your payment is treated like any standard faster payment transfer. You can find out more about what this means in the Ts&Cs of the bank that sent the payment. Most UK banks will refund you if you’re scammed by an illegitimate business that you transfer money to.
If you pay by card online, your card issuer (Visa, MasterCard, etc.) might be able to dispute the payment with the merchant. This is called a ‘chargeback’. To start this process, you’ll need to talk to the bank that sent the payment.
If you notice something’s wrong with a payment
To start with, please contact the business you paid. If they can’t help then you’ll need to talk to your bank or the company that issued your card.
