Adding a statement descriptor in Stripe
How to change the information that appears about you on customers’ bank statements
When someone buys a product or service from your business, Stripe sends basic information about your organisation and the purchase to your customer’s bank, which they add to their statement. Exactly what that looks like will depend on the details you gave Stripe when you signed up, or the format the customer’s bank uses. Either way, it’ll be a combination of the following:
your business’ name
your web address
your business’ location
your phone number
To change the way this looks:
log in to your Stripe dashboard
head to settings (the cog in the top right)
in ‘Business settings’, click ‘Public details’
edit the ‘Statement descriptor’ and ‘Shortened descriptor’
hit ‘Save’ at the bottom of the page
To see what this will look like on your customers’ statements, hover over or tap on the information icon on the right.
