Monzo or another bank called and asked me to move money to a 'safe account'
Don't do it – this is a scam.
We'll never call you without letting you know first, by email or our in-app chat. Other banks will never ask you to move money out of your Monzo account. We'll also never ask you to take out borrowing with us, or lie to us about the reason for a payment.
If someone phones you claiming to be from Monzo, you can always check this is true in the app with Monzo Call Status:
Click on your profile picture in the top left of the app and go to Settings
Tap Privacy & Security
Monzo Call Status at the top of the page will show if we're talking to you or not. If not, and someone on the phone still says they're from Monzo, you should hang up immediately and contact us in the app chat.
If you're not sure whether this is a legitimate call, hang up, do an online search for your bank's official customer service number, and ask if they called you.
You can call Monzo for free on 0800 802 1281.
