What fees are charged for receiving international transfers?

We don’t charge any fees for receiving international payments that have already been converted to British pounds. For payments in other currencies, we use a third party to convert foreign currency you receive into British pounds, and they set the exchange rate. You'll see the rate used in the transaction details after receiving the payment.

We also charge a 1% conversion fee. So, for example, if you receive a payment in another currency that’s worth £100, we’ll convert it to British pounds and charge a £1 fee. The maximum fee for each transaction is £1,000.

We recommend having the payment sent in the sender's local currency, if possible

It’s also worth checking with the sender what their bank charges, to see whether receiving British pounds would work out cheaper.
